Pima county has been controlled by the same group of county supervisors for over 20 years now, we have several issues in Pima county including the condition of the roads, the secret deals which go too far such as World View and Monsanto. Finally, we have the highest debt of any county in the state and the highest taxes.

What does the Board of Supervisors do?

According to the Pima County Website:

"The Pima County Board of Supervisors is responsible for steering public policy in the region.

The five-member board provides direction to the County Administrator and the county's various departments as they work to ensure safe communities, nurture economic development, sustainably manage natural resources and protect public health.

In addition to overseeing the delivery of a host of municipal services, from roads to parks and libraries and law enforcement, board members also are responsible for approving the county budget.

Elected to four-year terms, board members also set the amount of taxes to be levied."

The Pima County board of Supervisors meet at 9am on the first and third Tuesday of the month at:

Pima County administration building-East
130 W Congress Street 1st floor
Tucson, AZ 85701

Administrator Huckelberry Contract

The existing board of supervisors approved a raise for the county administrator Chuck Huckelberry raising his base pay to an astounding $288,000/year - increasing his total compensation to $374,000 annually. Making Huckelberry the 2nd highest paid county administrator in the country. Administrator Huckelberry has been in his role since 1993 and, during his watch, Pima county has been going in the wrong direction - in fact we are known as the 5th poorest metropolitan area in the country.

Response from Supervisor Elias - get out of my way Response from Supervisor Valadez - walk away Response from Supervisor Valadez - walk away

With the Board of Supervisor meetings being held at 9am the first and third Tuesday of every month, many people are not able to attend or even watch the live stream of the meetings.

Currently Pima County does not maintain a library of the meeting videos. However, Supervisor Miller does post videos on her Youtube channel.

In fact, all the way back in Nov 18,2014 Supervisor Miller had an item on the agenda to have one meeting per month at 7pm which did not get a second for a vote before the board, but that was before Supervisor Christy served on the board. See agenda item #17 on this agenda.
